David lives in Alamo and is married to Ilene Keys, who serves as cantor at Temple Sinai of Oakland. Together they have three children Seth, Stella and Solomon, who all attended Temple Isaiah’s preschool and CCJDS from K-8th grades, and have fond memories of attending summer camp and swimming at the JCC pool.  

David is active in the East Bay Jewish Community, having previously served on the Development Committee of Temple Sinai of Oakland, the Community Investment Committee of the Easy Bay Jewish Federation, and the Contra Costa Jewish Day School board from 2018 to 2024. Professionally, David is a Certified Financial Planner ® practitioner and has been doing comprehensive financial planning and directly advising clients for 25 years. 

David grew up in Los Angeles, and attended Temple Israel of Hollywood and day school at Valley Beth Shalom and Stephen S. Wise Temple. He is a graduate of UCLA with a B.A. degree in Political Science, did graduate studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and also holds a M.A. and M.Phil. in Politics from NYU, where he undertook and published research on the causes and impact of the social investing movement.
